He Finally Has a Name!

Introducing Andy!

These pictures aren't the best but they are all I have. I can't wait to get him fit and muscled up. He is really upright in his feet, I'm hoping my farrier can address that when he comes out. I am SOOOO glad the time changed back and now I can ride later and later.

Yesterday Andy and I worked on go and go where I point. I didn't rate him much or get too picky. There were a ton of other riders in the arena and once or twice he wanted to pull towards his favorite mare but other than that it was a great ride. For a horse that isn't quick he isn't one that wants to stand either. Periodically I would ask for a whoa and stand somewhere in the arena and expect him to stay. When he wouldn't I would spin him or work on his shoulders and then offer to let him stand again. He is a smart guy and picked up on this really quick.

I wish you guys could see how SMOOTH he rides. But since you can't capture that in a picture you will just have to come ride him! HAHA

My goal this week is to ride him as much as possible. I am taking him and the new horse I got in yesterday to a cutting show saturday afternoon. We won't be doing any cutting but we will be working turnback and moving the herd some. I hope to have a friend come with me and a camera so I can share it with you guys!

He looks like he's pretty cute. Maybe it's just the workman-like tack, but he seems like he's got a relatively decent work ethic on him. Keep us updated!
