Hunter Pace

First, thanks everyone for the nice comments about my videos in my last post!

Sunday Jay and I went on our first hunter pace together! We rode with a couple of friends from the barn where I take lessons, and had a great time. I have really been having a good time with Jay since he has been back in work. He and I have really connected. It is just so wonderful to go out to the barn and have your horse nicker and come to you from across the pasture! Some of you have seen them already, but here is a link to the photos so that I don't have to re-upload them here!

Early on in the ride we came into a field along the road. The professional photographer was set up there, and got a couple of shots of me conquering my cantering issues...the ones I realized I had the day I drove nearly 6 hours to look at Jay! You can tell by the look on my face how I am feeling about it now!

We placed fourth...out of four teams in our division, LOL! We don't do it to win anyway, but to have fun, which we did! I guess that makes us winners after all!?!

This Saturday I am taking Jay to ride at the Biltmore House in Asheville, NC. I am going with the Yadkin Valley Hounds Pony Club, which I joined as a Horsemaster, their program for adults. I finally get to participate in Pony Club! Hopefully I will get some nice pictures to share.

I'm so glad you're getting out and having fun! Riding at Biltmore sounds like a blast. I've seen pictures of some of the shows with the house in the background and it just looks like a gorgeous place to ride!

I've had a terrible time getting out to ride lately. Either the weather is gross or I just feel tired and non-motivated following work. I'd hoped to get out this weekend, but then it rained. It's rather sad that even with 2 people riding her Phoebe isn't in even remotely regular work.

If I get out this week I'll update you guys on how she's doing. At least she's sound now, so I don't have to worry about motivating myself to go out only to find out she's off.
