I rode last night and good grief...that was a workout! I was relieved when the barn owner came over to chat so I could have a break from trying to get the big oaf to move. I did throw my cc saddle on so we could canter over some eensy jumps...that got him slightly moving. But only slightly.
I'm heading back to mebane tonight to take the big gelding out on a trail ride. Hopefully I can hop him over a few tiny jumps, too. If all goes well I should be on my way to a vet check and maybe horse ownership again! Am I ready? Yikes! I keep listening to all this talk about recession and layoff's and the crap economy...is it smart to be spending my life savings on a horse? Hmmm....

If you like him and can afford him, buy him. You don't want to think back with the "what ifs".
Good luck on the trail ride!! I hope he is great. Good luck with the jumps too. He looks like he has a nice jump (from the x-c pic we saw of him).

I will miss the Hobbes stories if you get the new horse, though. He's such a character!!
Poor Hobbes! He will be missed... But you will enjoy your new horse, too! I gotta go read how the trail ride went!
