Kate & Pro - 8/22

We're back! I hadn't ridden in eight days...yikes. But apparently the week-long vacation (with the exception of some lunging) was really good for Pro's brain. He was quiet as a lamb yesterday. Even a tad lazy. I didn't go play by the bunny bush/pole area, but he was calm about the bench. Yeah he looked at it a few times and didn't want to 100% behave, but it was all mild and there was no anger behind it. Even picked up the canter quietly and was listening. :) He seemed fine with me keeping my hands up in their proper position, so I focused a lot on giving him reward pats with my inside hand while NOT letting my outside hand drop as I did it. We worked on transitioning from sitting to posting trot and back, and a few trot-halt transitions without losing energy.

It was nice to have a good ride again. :)

Good Pro! I wonder if he's the type of horse that does better with less riding...Hobbes does best with about 3 or 4 days/week. Any more and he seems to get a little cranky.

Glad you're back, by the way!

Man, that was some virus you had. Its good that you are feeling good enough to ride again. I know Pro enjoyed the break
