I walked Mandros again today and he was pretty good. Its hard to keep him at a marching walk, he wants to drag his toes and walk like an old man. We did tons on leg yeilds and halfpasses.
We did a fun exercise, Im having fun going from half pass to leg yeild, and then back. So, we started out on the rail and when we came to a dressage letter, we halfpassed to the 1/8 line (Im pretty sure that doesnt actually exist, but its halfway to the 1/4 line. Is 2.5 meters from the rail.). Once we hit the 1/8 line, we leg yeilded to the rail in time to meet the next letter. Then we started over again all the way down the longside. The length between the letters is about 10 meters or so.
His leg still looks yucky, but we are keeping it really clean and he isnt bothered by us touching or stretching that leg. We are supposed to start trotting him for 5 minutes/twice a day this week, so Ill keep you posted.

Old man!!! :) At least you can play with some fancy stuff at the walk. Is he able to do poles? That might be fun. And help him pick up his feet some more.
Inventing markers in the dressage arena is perfectly acceptable if you ask me!
yes, I did walk over some poles with him. He is really adorable doing it. He perks his ears all the way up as if he is saying "I remember doing this years ago when I was a jumper"
I'm glad you're able to do fun stuff at the walk! That sounds pretty cool. I hope the trot work goes well, too!
Glad to hear he's doing well! Keep up the progress...
Glad he is enjoying his new slower work.
