Andrea and Pro (7/20)
Well, Sunday wasn't any cooler than Saturday I don't think, and the humidity was a killer. I ended up riding around 2:30. We had a very 'menh' ride, I think in part because of the heat. He was good about going forward, seemed to do better at going where I told him to on a slightly long rein, and didn't seem to do the nose-tipping thing. Instead, he just never really submitted to the bit and it just didn't feel dressage-y. Kate's been bragging about him so much I think I just sort of expected a magical dressage ride ;). Apparently it's a magical dressage ride after persistent telling him that it's not an option. Good to know for later this week!

Don't you just HATE the humidity! *groan*
From what I know about Pro via this blog, I definitely would say he is a horse that must be told what you want him to do is not optional! Even then, expect some disagreement! He IS a red-headed Arabian, after all! *grin*
Girl, you get a cookie just for going out to the barn at 2:30, much less riding!!
I love going out during the day, but it's been SO freaking hot lately that I feel like I'm melting when I'm out there. Which is why I've starting switching to nights now...

2:30 is a really hot time to ride. thats when I usually ride and I just couldnt handle it. Go you for sticking it out. It probably didnt phase Pro much since he is an Arab.
Well, nice to know I'm not just a complete wuss. :) Looks like the weather should break in the next day or so, so maybe we can all not fry this weekend. :)
