Poor Deuce was SO sore after his trim, so he got some Bute last Monday and Tuesday. I was SO glad that he finally felt like cantering up for his supper Tuesday! He had been moving like a little old man. His Vitamin C also came last week, so he started that on Wednesday. At first I mixed it into his feed with a little bit of corn oil, but then tried it without and found he will eat it just sprinkled into his food. It smells rather vile, and the vet was not sure he would eat it, so I am very happy that he is. Now I hope it works!
Bo was able to leave the hospital on Friday. He couldn't come back to the barn where he is boarded right now, but his owner has 2 stalls in her back yard. The reason they moved the horses from there is that they were annexed into the city, and a neighbor complained about the horses. Hopefully the owner won't get too much hassle over having her one injured horse there for a while. The wound is healing, but of course will take time.

I'm glad they're both doing better! And honestly, while I know you WANT before pics of his feet, I HAVE before pics of Pepsi's feet, and they only serve to make me feel guilty that I didn't get them fixed sooner!
Just enjoy the after pictures! ;)
Mary, that's a VERY good point! Thank you! I would have beaten myself over the head wondering WHY I didn't realize he was so out of balance!
Im glad they are doing better but sad they are still in some pain :(
Aww...sorry he's still in pain. Have you found any boots for him...or maybe you could try the diaper duct tape trick.
Yeahhhh...like Mary said, I have the "before" pics too and they're not great to look at. Great to compare progress, but trust me - you'll FEEL and SEE the progress without pictures. :) I don't need to look/cringe at old pictures to realize how far Pro's come in his foot/muscle balance.
Thanks for the updates!!!
Thanks all!
I also don't think I made my post very clear. Deuce has definitely been feeling better since Tuesday! He has felt like cantering up for his supper and has been playing in the field again. :) He's not ready to ride yet, but at least he is not in SO much pain.
