Well, this'll be the Final Nines Update

When my vet said, "If you decide to go ahead and buy him, I'll be glad to help you manage the issue", I decided I'd best be movin on! NO MORE LAMENESS ISSUES!

Yeah, Dr. Meeker was adamant that suspensory injuries are bad news, even on the front, and it is highly likely to be problematic down the road.

Damn...I really loved that horse.

Good call!!! I'm sorry you have to pass on Nines but you're really making a good decision.

Pro can be a snot often, but (knock on WOOD) he's super healthy and that's worth a lot more than good behavior...or maybe it is if I keep telling myself that... ;)

But really, you'll be glad that you passed on this risk. Those are some words I wouldn't want my vet to say - so you're making the right call!

I agree- you're making the right call. I know you wanted him, but there IS a horse out there for you! And won't you feel better about falling in love with an animal that you can actually RIDE for the next 10 years?!?

I agree that you made a good call, as hard as it is. If (SINCE) you're vet is Dr. Meeker, though, you're in good hands and I would definitely listen to what he has to say, IMO! :) The right horse for you IS out there somewhere!

I think you made the right decsion. He seemed like a great horse, but you dont need to buy a horse that already has health issues. I too found a horse I really liked, but he had a huge conformation fault that I couldnt overlook because it would cuase problems down the road.

I agree, it's heartbreaking now, but think how much worse it'd be to have had him for a year or two and then have to deal with it.

Good luck horse-hunting!
