Dare and Mandros June, 30th

Pro isnt the only horse getting ridden, Mandros is working too!

First off, I want to say that Mandros' leg is looking alot better. No more oozing stuff, and the wound is closing nicely.

I worked on alot of circles and serpentines today. Ive been working on being accurate and making my circles round and starting and finishing them exactly on the letter. They are getting better and better.

I did a couple leg yeilds/half passes with him today too. I was having a little trouble getting the half pass at the trot, and his owner told me to try it at the canter because its a little easier. I tried it and he was great. The first time was a little sloppy, but the second time was much better. I even got a glimpse of it in the mirror!!! very cool! He is still doing very little canter work, but doing the halfpass at the canter was exciting.

I got my husband to take some new pictures!!! They arent that great, I had to use a saddle I hadnt ridden in before, and it didnt fit me. I even had to wrap the sturrups twice because they were so long. Notice how the sturrup issue continues when I lost my sturrup in the canter picture.

I like these pictures!! He looks great - it's hard to believe his surgery wasn't all that long ago. Which saddle is this?

Mandros is looking good!

I know what you mean about the circles...I have to ride every section deliberately to get the thing round. Egg-shaped is my specialty.

Nice pictures! I'm glad the wound is looking better. Yay for the canter half pass! Cool!

Kate, this is the Amerigo that Jennie had and used only a couple times.

The saddle I use when Jennie is using hers, was missing the sturrup leathers and we had no idea where they went. It was nice, but big, the flaps are really long. Its made for someone with alot longer legs than mine
