I couldnt blog yesterday because my computer was acting funny. Anyway, my ride went pretty well. I was able to collect him up and work on my sitting trot. It was pretty good considering I havent worked on it in over a month. It was soooo nice to be able to ride in a more collected frame. Of course I had to warm him up in a long frame, but thats fine.
Im introducing a little more cantering each time and he feels really good. He is still out of shape, and the left lead is harder, so he tries to break into the trot. But we got it going pretty good and then we took a long time walking out.
His leg is looking great and the opening in the wound is only about a centimeter wide (compared to about an inch when the stitches came out). And no more oozing or anything. His face has been itchy lately, another horse keeps ripping off his fly mask so the bugs can irritate him. Mandros has been scratching his face on the velco part of a fly sheet that was hanging on the fence. His face is all scratched up. So now he has to wear a huge spot of pink swat on his face. We have started putting the swat on in the shape of a heart. haha! Poor Mandros. Ill have to get a pic of it when I go Saturday.

Awww, Mandros!!! So much progress. :) And it's always good to warm up long anyway, silly!
Who's tearing off his mask?
I'm really glad he's recovering so well!
A horse named Tattletale keeps tearing off his mask. He leans his head out the window, and tears it off. He is a very sweet horse, but he loves to nibble on everything. He is a young horse and gets bored in a stall all day.
I'm so glad he's progressing so well! And you got to work on the sitting trot! Fabulous!!
I'm glad to hear he is doing well! Keep up the good work!
