Dare and Mandros, July 19th

Kate was right, Saturday was hot. I usually ride at night on Saturdays, but we had plans that night, so I rode at about 1. While I was riding, it was hot, but it was cloudy, so the sun wasnt hitting us. We actually got rained on for a few mintues.

Mandros was really good. He was a little fussy at first when I asked him to trot. He usually does this. He doesnt want to get round in the trot at first, and he throws his head up during the transition. So we kept re-trying the transition until he did it correctly. Its kinda like he's saying "Im going to see if she makes me do this". After that first transition, he was great the rest of the day.

I pushed him a little harder than I usually do. We rode for 10 mins longer than usual, which included an extra walk break. He did great in the canter and didnt try and break, not even once. Im so proud of him. My husband was out and we remembered the camera!!!

Mandros!!!! I love the pictures. :) That cantering picture is great...usually you post just the trot pictures so that must mean your cantering is improving. :)

It sounds like he's also improving endurance-wise, which is good. What a good boy!
